Enhancing the pedestrian experience through accessiblity and innovation

The Portal and Experience Center provides connection from the Larimer neighborhood directly into the heart of Bakery Square, breaking down what was once a physical barrier between the Bakery Square innovative district and its surrounding neighborhoods.

The former parking lot is now an inviting and lush journey to the ASLA-Award-winning Portal, a pedestrian passageway that is framed by a community art gallery. The Experience Center includes an Igloo immersive workspace for community use.

It creates a welcoming front door experience that provides accessible public space, and a new art gallery that supports meaningful public engagement through the established Bakery Square Art’s program. This beautiful urban space; one that will encourage connection and foster community for years to come.
