Crafting a bold hotel inside a Beaux Arts office building
Located in the striking Duquesne Light Building (1903) in Pittsburgh’s Central Business District, Hotel Monaco features 248 guest rooms, 13 suites, a 120-seat restaurant, and a rooftop bar.
Grand ballrooms on the main floor take advantage of the original soaring two-story lobby, now with restored windows and columns. Guests arrive through a new glass-and-steel entrance on William Penn Way, discovering playful elements such as elaborate trim details and bold floor patterns as they make their way through the hotel. The preservation and adaptation of this 1903 Beaux Arts structure has renewed a classic downtown building as a new destination that draws visitors both day and night.
