building the home for technology and innovation in pittsburgh

The new office building serves as a beacon and symbol of the City of Pittsburgh’s vibrant growth and reinvention as a hub for technology, innovation and sustainability.

Strada was engaged to design this nine-story building as the final showpiece of Bakery Square. Connected via pedestrian bridge to a network of walkways and 50% taller than neighboring structures, Strada prioritized composing this building into down-scaled parts to harmonize with the context and contribute to the humancentric, walkable streetscape we have designed for previous phases of Bakery Square.

Unique features of this project include a unified pedestrian bridge, a “light park” known as Sally’s Path, and rain garden with runnel water features.

The Bakery Square development has helped to elevate the standard for sustainable development in the city.
