The Bakery Square Courtyard Refresh has completed the vision of Bakery Square as a true mixed-use development that is integrated with the surrounding neighborhoods and holds an integral place in the life of Pittsburgh.

Galley Bakery Square is a 6,000 sq. ft. food hall, similar to the concept at Federal Galley on the North Side. The 14,000 sq. ft. public courtyard is just outside adjacent to the building with seating, a large lawn and a small stage for live music and community events. A two-story, 3,200 sq. ft. conservatory sits on the opposite side of Galley.

The Bakery Square Courtyard Refresh has amplified and completed the activation a long dormant portion of Penn Avenue. With a programmed courtyard that serves the surrounding buildings, the energy throughout the ground level has been palpable as Pittsburgh has emerged from the pandemic.

Our courtyard “refresh” project has totally transformed Bakery Square. Now, we are the go-to destination for people from all of the surrounding neighborhoods. With our variety of restaurants and shops – combined with our fully accessible indoor and outdoor public spaces, we have something for everyone. You can have an early coffee date at Starbucks or Panera, meet for lunch – sitting outside or inside, have a business meeting in our new conservatory, or meet for happy hour and dinner at the lively food hall, Täkō and Alta Via Pizza.
