A next-generation lab for immunotherapy research

The Wistar Institute is a global leader in biomedical research with special expertise in cancer, immunology, infectious disease, and vaccine development.

Founded in 1892, the Wistar Institute is an independent, nonprofit research organization with a special focus on gene therapy. Wistar’s new Center for Advanced Therapeutics seeks to revolutionize immunotherapy with this next-generation lab that bridges immunotherapy and vaccine biology with small molecular chemicals.

Working with the Institute and a diverse group of scientists, the design of the Center fosters continuous exchange of ideas, collaboration, and partnership. The design of the 15,000 sq. ft. Center includes transparency, flexibility, and strategic points of informal collaboration to encourage scientific discovery. Subtle patterns used throughout the Center incorporate elements of genome sequencing.
