A thriving and energetic biotech space in Center City

Biomeme is a dynamic biotech company that specializes in the development and production of rapid diagnostic PCR devices. As the demand for their innovative products grew during the pandemic, Biomeme sought a new location to expand its operations.

They chose 401 N Broad in Center City Philadelphia after Strada’s comprehensive feasibility study that considered the requirements of their multifaceted operations including R&D labs, bio-manufacturing, warehousing, and office space. The building was retrofitted for lab use with the installation of a new ten-story lab exhaust riser and waste system.

The renovated facility preserves the industrial heritage of the building with interior framed glass partitions, exposed ceiling elements, and polished concrete floors. The labs were equipped with state-of-the-art amenities including once-through air, compressed air, static control, humidification, dehumidification, and emergency power. The result is a vibrant workspace that reflects Biomeme’s energetic company culture while providing a conducive environment for their research and manufacturing activities to thrive.

The Biomeme project encompasses the coveted trifecta of design: enthusiastic clients, technical challenges, and a desire to create a beautiful space. The result is a unique space that speaks to the aspirations of those who use the space every day.
