Forging a Bright Student Life Center for a Bustling University

The David A. Bresler Dental Student Center experienced a complete transformation on the fourth floor of the Old Dental School Building at Temple. The nearly 18,000 sq. ft. renovated space provides a welcoming retreat for the dedicated, hardworking dental students of Kornberg. Serving as a touchdown site for a quick bite between classes or an evening study session with classmates, the new Student Center keeps pace with the busy lifestyle of its users.

Strada took advantage of the newly replaced windows in the space to create an inviting, colorful cafe/lounge. The design team worked closely with the Dean to develop a finish scheme that would combine the character of the donor, a modern aesthetic for attracting new students, and a timeless appearance. An exciting mural by local artist Glossblack is a central focal point at the entry. A convenience store/cafe opens to the lounge space, giving students a perfect place for a pit stop, and a 500 sq. ft. catering kitchen is an added amenity.
