We are delighted to announce the promotion of George Poulin, AIA, LEED AP to Senior Associate! George is a consummate professional who lives and breathes his profession, relishing the complexities of a constantly evolving industry and the unique challenges posed by each new project. His eye for detail leads to designs that are thoughtfully considered and meticulously crafted. He is a natural leader with a talent for effortlessly guiding project teams through the design process and inspiring the very best from each team member.
George joined the firm in 2003 and has continued to leave his imprint on Strada ever since. This includes work on projects as distinct as the award-winning Friends Center LEED-Platinum renovation, the renovation of Weavers Way Mt. Airy, and the finely detailed DanDan Restaurant that recently joined Philadelphia’s sizzling restaurant scene.
It is no wonder that his thoroughness and unrivaled responsiveness have led to a series of high-performance science, research and lab facilities for both the academic and private sectors. These projects vary in scale and complexity from the ExCITe Center and the School of Public Health at Drexel University to the world-class Center for Bioelectrics at Old Dominion University. At uCity Square, formerly known as the University City Science Center, George has designed a wide range of research, lab and incubator spaces including Invisible Sentinel’s research and manufacturing facility, the Energy Plus Offices, Eli Lilly’s AVID Radiopharmaceuticals Group headquarters and the Quorum. He is now designing the interior architecture of Adaptimmune’s new U.S. research and manufacturing facility at Philadelphia Navy Yard.
You might wonder if George has any spare time. During those rare moments, he indulges his overlapping interests in architecture and urban design through the Powelton Village Civic Association as Zoning Committee Chair, and by restoring his Victorian home and garden.
