Strada is taking active measures to ensure the health of our Team Members and also to assist in fighting the spread of COVID-19. We closed our physical offices in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia on March 17, 2020. We continue to operate remotely while considering CDC guidelines and recommendations to protect our team and clients for a safe reopening. We anticipate returning to our offices this summer, but will update our plans as new information becomes available.

Meetings will continue to be held virtually, via conference call or may be postponed. All of our Team Members will be working remotely under our work-from-home policy. Due to school and business closings, our staff may be active at various times throughout the day and evening. Please bear with us as we make every effort to stay on schedule and in contact with our clients and business colleagues.

About Strada

Strada means “street” in Italian. Streets matter to us. They’re the fundamental infrastructure of our cities and the core of our civic lives. They’re the connections between buildings, people, and public spaces. This is why we’re so inspired by them and it’s a shared commitment to these values that brought our principals together. Just as people mingle on city streets, our office is a place where we freely exchange ideas, challenging and inspiring one another to create exceptional work.

Seizing intellectual capital to achieve a competitive edge

About the project

The Innovation Research Park @ ODU sits at the heart of Old Dominion University’s intellectual capital, research infrastructure, and student and faculty innovation. Strada designed the core and shell of the first two research buildings in this mixed-use university village. Each 5-story building provides 100,000-GSF of flexible laboratory space, integrating computer simulation labs and modular labs that foster emerging research in applied technology and oceanography. The labs are designed to adapt easily to a variety of users with minimal disruption to the building operations and infrastructure.

The buildings mark a significant step towards the creation of a unique innovation zone that integrates world-renowned scientists and research facilities with technology-intensive private sector companies. Strada also designed over 60,000 SF of University research space in Building 1 and over 40,000 SF in Building 2. These spaces include the Center for Brain Research, the ODU Conference Center, ODU Genomics and Proteomics Diagnostic Research Lab, and the renowned Center for Bioelectrics.
