Biomeme is a growing biotech company that designs and manufactures rapid diagnostic PCR devices. Their hunt for a new space to accommodate their expanding business began during the early days of the pandemic. Biomeme sought a location in Center City Philadelphia that could accommodate their multifaceted operations consisting of highly technical R&D labs, device and bio-manufacturing, warehousing, and office needs.
After a thorough programming and feasibility study, Biomeme selected 401 N Broad for their new home. Concurrently, the building was retrofitted for lab use through the installation of a new ten-story lab exhaust riser and lab waste system. The renovated facility celebrates the industrial heritage of the building through the use of new interior framed glass partitions, exposed ceiling elements, and polished concrete floors.
Labs were provided with once-through air, compressed air, static control, humidification and dehumidification, and emergency power. The resulting space fosters Biomeme’s energetic company culture while allowing its research and manufacturing capabilities to thrive.
