A founding principal of Strada, Al has extensive planning and design experience collaborating with higher education, corporate and private clients. He currently leads many of the firm’s higher education projects. Al explores his client’s institutional goals, seeking out creative and innovative ways to solve their immediate facility needs while generating long-term value by making places that support their aspirations.
Al understands the role that exceptional design services can play in advancing any institution’s or company’s bottom line, whether that bottom line may be creating stronger learning environments, enhancing a more productive work place, or supporting creative problem-solving endeavors. In 1998, while serving as President of AIA Pittsburgh, Al coined the phrase “Good Design is Good Business.”
