Landscape Designer

Strada, a multi-disciplinary design firm, is seeking a Landscape Designer for our Pittsburgh studio.

Our cross-disciplinary approach to design is immersive, human-centric, and diverse. We actively leverage the expertise and talents from a variety of disciplines within our three studios to achieve exceptional results for our clients.

Candidates should be willing to learn and contribute to the design process. We look for individuals who are talented and passionate about their work. We help you cultivate your talents as part of the design team.

Candidates should have a degree in Landscape Architecture from an LAAB-accredited school. We seek individuals with an active interest in diverse project types and design challenges, as well as the desire to integrate landscapes and architecture – including urban landscapes, public open spaces, campus landscapes, and commercial mixed-use facilities. We would love to know about your other life interests, hobbies, passions, and talents as we find these attributes contribute to our design culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Applying knowledge of the general concepts of landscape design including site analysis, project theming, schematic design, and design development
• Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary project team during the creative design process
• Developing landscape plans and documents for all phases of the project
• Supporting construction administration on projects by creating construction details, attending site visits, and assisting with revisions
• Contributing to the development of client presentation materials
• Prioritizing tasks while responding to changing needs and schedules

Desired skills and Abilities

• At least 2 years of landscape architecture experience
• General understanding of hardscape and landscape construction technologies
• The ability to prepare construction-level technical documents
• Strong design sensibility and knowledge of Pennsylvania/Mid-Atlantic regional plants
• A facility for CAD, BIM, and presentation software
• Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
• Familiarity with coordinating engineering consultant services
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Proactive, resourceful self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills
