Fresh ideas about design
Principal Ed Shriver has been researching, writing, and speaking for years about how people and commerce interact in urban environments. On Thursday at the AIA’s Retail and Entertainment Knowledge Community Conference, he will present New York City’s 42nd Street as a test case. Ed will explain patterns in the urban ecosystem of the Theater District and show how these represent ‘in situ’ responses to urban conditions.
The conference convenes in New York this year with the revitalization of the 42nd Street Theater District as the theme. Attendees will explore the district’s streetscapes and examine the effects of the renovating and re-purposing of historic entertainment venues. Read more about the conference>>
