Fresh ideas about design
Can one new building revitalize an entire community? This is the modest goal that the RENEW Building in Camden is trying to achieve. Developed by Parkside Business and Community in Partnership, the first new building in the Parkside neighborhood in over 40 years is targeting LEED-Platinum certification. Strada is developing exhibits to interpret the building’s green features and to explain the concept of sustainability, illustrating specific ways members of the community can reduce their environmental impact. These might include setting up a community tool shed, establishing community gardens, and creating DIY projects that improve energy efficiency. The exhibits will flow throughout the building and site, and integrate graphic text panels, interpretive signage and manual interactives with engaging media treatments.
